Following on from the success of the Level 1 Food Safety courses, Learning Curve is now offering the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Level 2 Food Safety courses across Wiltshire. This course will benefit many local organisations and businesses in the area as well as charitable organisations who offer food service.

Courses last a day.

The Level 2 Award is aimed at anyone working in catering, manufacturing or a setting where food is prepared, cooked and handled.

Typical environments may include:

  • community centres
  • care homes
  • schools
  • nurseries and playgroups
  • pubs, hotels, restaurants
  • supermarkets and retail environments
  • food and drink manufacturers

The Food Standards Agency brought in a hygiene rating scheme last year known as ‘scores on the doors’ during trials. Councils in the south west and south east joined the scheme in October 2010. It is more important than ever that businesses, charities and community organisations who prepare food for public consumption ensure that their staff are fully trained in food safety standards to meet the requirements.

The course costs £40 for charitable organisations and £75 for businesses.
