The Learning Curve invites you to Spring Online this May!
The Learning Curve, a UK online centre is leading the way towards an online nation, by inviting older people in the Devizes area to ‘Spring Online’ this May.
It doesn’t matter if you’ve never even touched a computer before or if you already know a little bit, you’re invited along to find out more about computers and the internet.
The Learning Curve will be running a special open day on Thursday 19th May in Devizes. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. Advisors will be on hand to provide support and information on how to get online successfully.
One in five people aged 55-64 have never used the internet, rising to three in five of those aged over 65. The Spring Online campaign week runs from 16-20 May 2011, ending with national Silver Surfers’ Day on the Friday, and aims to help over 50s find out what the internet could do for them.
The campaign - from Digital Unite and UK online centres - is set to see tens of thousands of people taking up the Spring Online challenge at thousands of local events up and down the country.
John Moultonf from Warminster is one of the people the The Learning Curve has already helped to get to grips with computers. He said: “I had never worked with computers before. I decided to take the step as I was behind on technology and wanted to learn as quickly as possible. My tutor is really helpful and he has an easy going manner which is helpful to learning quickly.”
To follow in John ‘s footsteps, come along to the sessions in Devizes on the 19th May.
