This accredited course is mapped against the core elements of the level 3 standards in Volunteer Management and is supported by the standard setting body for Volunteer Skills. It will help to get your skills and knowledge recognised and you will improve the effectiveness of your volunteers. This is an accredited course and participants wishing to achieve the full certificate will be required to complete 6 units of study as indicated below and a detailed case study. What you will Learn • Plan Volunteer Work: Requires learners to demonstrate the planning and organisational skills required for making and executing plans at the longer-term, policy level. • Organising Volunteers and Resources: Requires learners to demonstrate that they are able to manage specific volunteers working to individual short term work plans. • Communicating Effectively to Brief Volunteers: Relates to skills needed to lead and motivate volunteers, and in particular, to communicate with them effectively. • Monitoring Volunteer Work: Examines the importance of monitoring planned volunteer activity and measuring progress against key objectives. • Give Feedback to Volunteers: Requires learners to demonstrate good interpersonal skills with regard to debriefing volunteers, helping volunteers to review their work, and supporting volunteers. • Support Volunteers to Solve Problems: This unit is about monitoring volunteer activities and supporting volunteers effectively so that any problems which occur can be successfully resolved. It is important that anybody undertaking this qualification is managing volunteers as the units draw on work experience. Candidates also have to produce a written case study, which is set in the context of the candidate's own organisation. We have altered the way the sessions run, to enable us to offer the course at a more affordable price. Dates are: 31st May, 7th June , 21st June, 28thJune, 5th July and 12th July (3 classroom sessions, the rest tutorial or workbook sessions) There is also a portfolio to submit.
