Arts Award Bronze/Silver Advisor Training

Would you like to know more about the Young People’s ‘Arts Award’? If so, Artswork the national youth arts agency is pleased to be delivering Bronze and Silver Adviser Training for those who wish to deliver the award, our next course will take place on 3rd March 2011, 9.45 am- 4pm at Basepoint, Southampton. Arts Award is England’s national qualification which supports young people to develop as artists and arts leaders. Young people aged between 11 and 25 can achieve Arts Awards at levels 1, 2 and 3 on the national qualifications framework. Once you have undertaken your adviser training, you will be able to register as an Arts Award Centre which will enable you to start running the award. The Arts Award can be run anywhere that young people aged 11-25 are taking part in the arts. Between 2005 and 2008, the Arts Award saw 6000 professionals work with 27,000 young people and over 10,000 awards were presented. Example settings to deliver the award include: arts organisations, schools, colleges, youth projects, voluntary clubs, community groups, pupil referral units, those who work with young people in the criminal justice system or undertake focused work with specific groups such as young refugees and asylum seekers. To undertake the role of Arts Award Adviser you should have at least two years full-time or three years part-time experience of work with young people and you will need to complete a one-day adviser training course. This course cost includes all training and administration, training resources, lunch and refreshments.
