Learning Curve is a charity whose expertise in promoting and providing skills and learning to adults has been nationally recognised. We want to strengthen our Board of Trustees by recruiting new Trustees who can bring a range of skills and have an interest in supporting our work in the voluntary sector and in education for young people and adults.
The scope of our work currently includes staff training for voluntary sector staff and volunteers, educational work with ex-offenders, providing funds and support for other voluntary organisations involved in learning and developing learning opportunities for disadvantaged communities. We work across the SW region, particularly in Wiltshire, Swindon, Gloucestershire, Bristol, Bath and Dorset although we also cover parts of the SE region.
We have strong links with the Skills Funding Agency and our Chief Executive sits on a number of national advisory committees.
You may have experience in learning and skills, the voluntary and community sector or social enterprise, or you may bring business experience and skills such as in financial management, strategic planning, marketing, HR or chairing skills.
Being a Trustee gives you the opportunity to help steer the charity through an exciting new phase of its development as we continue to grow and expand. Trustees meet about six times a year in either our Chippenham or Melksham offices. The role is voluntary but expenses are payable. You would receive ongoing training and support to help you carry out this role.
If you are interested in the opportunity, please contact Jacqui Watson to arrange an informal discussion, alternatively complete an application form below.
Hours of work: Tuesdays, 10am - 4pm, 6 times per year for Trusteeship and Committee work.
