
Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector comes from a DfES initiative to transform and professionalise teacher training and CPD (Continuing Professional Development) in the Lifelong Learning Sector in England. This Level 3 Award will act as an essential gateway to either Associate or Full Teacher Status, a necessary award for anyone delivering learning.
Prerequisites
Learners should have literacy to level 2.
Course Dates
9 sessions on Tuesdays starting 2nd March 2010 and ending 11th May 2010, as follows:

Full Day attendance = 9:30 – 16:30 (6 Hours delivery plus breaks)

LSC funded: £260 per learner.

Course qualification and assessment
The successful completion of this course and submission of a portfolio, and completing a short teaching session, which meets the assessment criteria, will result in a City and Guilds qualification.
Your course progress will be assessed by practical and written assignments. The last date for submission of a completed portfolio for accreditation will be Friday May 28th 2010.
Course materials
You will be provided with written assignments and forms to use on the course. You will also be asked to provide some materials as portfolio evidence yourself.
Progression opportunities
This course could lead to a Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS) or Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS).
